For some reason, the MHS master schedule is not made public. This makes the job of choosing an alternative class for a student more difficult for the student or family. It also requires the investment of more time on the part of guidance counselors when course changes are needed, and counselor time is a scarce resource nowadays.
To facilitate the identification of alternatives, high school students and their families can crowd source the master schedule. This involves making available a pair of spreadsheets that are copies of the templates:
Students and families can fill out these spreadsheets using students’ own schedules. A student who has a Chemistry class period 3, for example, shares that information on the spreadsheet so anyone needing a science in period 3 will see that as an option.
